We had a lovely night at Maryculter House for our anniversary. Our suite was absolutely gorgeous, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. The only slight improvement I could suggest would be the in-room entertainment available - I'd have loved to have listened to some music or had a good movie on, but the TV was very basic with very limited channels. A wee upgrade to that would definitely make 4.8 stars (if I could give them) into 5 😉

Maryculter House Hotel was the ideal location for our Staycation this Christmas. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and our room was ideal. We stayed 3 nights and had breakfast, lunch & dinner which was very good. All the guests were lovely and we couldn't have gone anywhere better. Thank you so much.

We stayed for one night and we loved it! The house is simply beautiful, we loved the common area with the fire pit. The room was a little run down, but still clean and it didn’t bother us. The staff is friendly and professional. The breakfast was the best on our whole trip (we did a two week tour in Scotland and visited around 10 hotels, so we have some experience). Dinner was nice, the atmosphere beautiful, only maybe a little expensive for what it is. We would definitely come back and recommend staying here, it was cozy and perfect. Thank you! :)

Visited as part of large party to celebrate a rather delayed 40th Year reunion of Aberdeen Medical School class of 1981. My room was beautiful, the bed comfortable, the shower amazing and the hospitality brilliant. Highly recommend. Many thanks for looking after us

Extensive and historical grounds to walk over, explore and on the banks of Dee. The refurbished property left little room for improvement, top class

Once Fantastic, but Standards are Slipping I have stayed at Maryculter House Hotel many times over the last five years, choosing it as an alternative to staying in Aberdeen itself. In all my previous visits, it has been a fantastic experience. The rooms have always been good, the food satisfactory, and parking has never been an issue. The hotel, both inside and out, looks fantastic. However, it has become apparent that the hotel is now more focused on being a venue and restaurant, and care for hotel guests seems to be slipping from the high standards I have experienced in previous years. During my recent stay, I was unable to secure a table for dinner, as the restaurant was fully booked. Staying at a destination hotel, I would expect to be able to dine where I stay, especially when staying for multiple nights. There are several other areas where standards have slipped, including blocked showers that overflow, slightly tired decor in the heritage room I stayed in this time, and a lack of a phone to order room service. Walking to reception to order room service is inconvenient, and it’s disappointing to be told, “we will try to get it around that time” rather than being able to schedule a specific time. Additionally, I returned to my room to find it had been cleaned and made up, but the window had been left open and the door unlocked by whoever cleaned it. I hope that these are just temporary issues and that standards will improve, with more consideration given to guests staying at the hotel and their dining needs. Being in a small village with limited dining options, it’s crucial for guests to be able to eat at the hotel. I am returning to Aberdeen next week and possibly the week after. I had been considering recommending this hotel to my parents for a short break, but I no longer feel confident in doing so. I hope others have a better experience, and perhaps if I try again in the coming months, I won’t encounter the same level of forced nicety and unavailability.

Beautiful rooms with lovely clean bathrooms, complimentary water and milk with tea and coffee in the room, great food and absolutely wonderful staff! Rooms have lovely views and the location is so picturesque lots of walks to take dogs on as it has dog friendly rooms and dogs are allowed all places except the restaurant

The staff were great. The receptionist was the ideal person in that position. She was so helpful. The restaurant staff were brilliant. The food was superb. The building is full of character and delightful though just need a slight freshen up.

We only stayed for one night. We stayed in room 107 and had our large dog with us - she loved the treats that were left for her. Unfortunately, she also loved the curtain tassels, so they had to live in the drawer for the duration 🤣. The room was lovely and clean with a gorgeous view of the river Dee. The staff were very helpful. Our dog loved exploring the beautiful grounds with us and we would stay again. 🥰

What an amazing building, make sure you explore as it has incredible artworks on the walls and some incredible shared spaces that you won't find unless you go looking. Same can be said for outside. The staff were incredibly welcoming and restaurant meals amazing.

Food was good as was the stay. However, some of the staff at breakfast were horrific. The way some of the senior staff treated the younger members in the restaurant was appalling, despite said senior staff being at fault for most things. Cleary not a great work environment. Out of date establishment.

First of all the head of staff "Gary" was very rude as well as a few others. Shocking the way they speak to even their own staff. The rooms toilet was constantly running water and would not flush properly. Not what you want to find out after just using it and also after paying £140 for 1 night! The breakfast portion size was terrible. I have celiac disease and need to eat gluten free, to which they said the breakfast was gluten free but when it arrived it was missing half the stuff listed in the breakfast.. no substitutes for the stuff that was missing either. You'd think you'd maybe get an extra bit of bacon or something if your not getting sausages, black pudding or haggis.

What a fantastic place for a Romantic Getaway (Wedding Anniversary). We had rm 205 (Templar) and wasn't disappointed. A big room with plenty of room and similar en suite. Dinner was well presented, and staff were attentive. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely in love with this place! Highly recommend to anyone! The building is well decorated. Modern yet has ties to the unique history of the location. The sitting room is a great addition and takes you back in time. The bedrooms are very comfortable and the washroom is spacious with the giant bay windows that open right onto the river and large mirrors that even have a heating unit behind them so they don’t fog up! This was one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. It was a great experience. Thank you!

Magnificent experience. Service was exceptional, the staff were professional and friendly. The rooms were very clean and luxurious. The restaurant attached served delicious food, everyone in my party enjoyed their meal. I look forward to coming back the next time I visit Scotland. This is a must stop location.
